Some of Auckland's Events organised by the gay, lesbian, bisexual and transgender communities.

Hero Festival

The HERO Festival is New Zealand's biggest annual gay and lesbian pride celebration. Like Sydney's Mardi Gras, the festival, a two week celebration of film, theatre, cabaret, dance and sport, culminates with a spectacular street parade and an all-night dance party. The party, utilising international DJs on three dance floors combines contemporary gay, lesbian, Maori, and Pacific island cultures, giving it a truly unique 'kiwi' flavour and atmosphere.

The Hero festival occurs every February.
